Celebrating the UK’s most inspiring social entrepreneurs
We’re so pleased to announce that Hatch founder Dirk has made it onto the Social Entrepreneur Index 2022! The index celebrates exciting and forward thinking entrepreneurship, and the exclusive selection process takes into account ingenuity, creativity, and dedication to helping others.
The social entrepreneur index campaign, powered by UMi, recognises entrepreneurs running businesses with social purposes, acting as a benchmark for good practice to inspire the next generation.
Announcing the successful entrepreneurs today, UMi explained, “Everybody in the social enterprise ecosystem is playing their part to make the world a fairer, greener and happier place. It is not always easy. But it is always worth it.”
Hatch was selected alongside other trailblazers across the UK for the difference we are making in the sector, trialling innovative solutions to build a better world through entrepreneurship.
When asked by the index what drives Hatch forwards the answer was easy: our founders.
The driving force behind Hatch is our huge community of inspiring founders, and seeing the power that entrepreneurship has to create change.
Almost half of the Hatch staff team are entrepreneurs themselves, with several having been through our programmes, so a passion for entrepreneurship is always at the heart of what we do and drives the organisation forwards.
This passion inspires us to reach more founders, more communities, and more businesses, spreading the power of entrepreneurship.
It was brilliant to see other members of the Hatch community receiving recognition in the index as well.
Hatch graduate Eoin Heffernan (founder of Integrate Agency) was also recognised in the index, and Eloise Skinner (founder of One Typical Day) was identified as ‘one to watch’.
Also spotted in the one to watch section was the brilliant Clare Griffiths (founder of Thrive) who has taught workshops on Hatch programmes, and one of our experts Heidi Fisher makes an appearance with her podcast ‘Building a World Run by Social Entrepreneurs’.
There’s a lot to celebrate in the Hatch community today and we’re thankful for all of our partners, funders, and most importantly founders who make everything we do possible, and are making a real impact through their inspiring businesses.
