It’s been a busy couple of months here at OPV! After meeting our entrepreneurs last November, Dame Tessa Jowell MP invited Hatch to the House of Commons. She was joined by fellow MP and Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna and David Goldberg (Director at Founders Forum for Good). Sitting in a room just off of the main lobby of this prestigious institution, our entrepreneurs gave a two-minute elevator pitch to the panel and participated in a very interesting Q&A session. During the Q&A they were able to express their thoughts and feelings with regards to youth enterprise in Lambeth and the support currently provided. It was great to see this forum being opened and a bridge being built between the individuals who have the power to help and support entrepreneurs and those who need it.
With a record number of entrepreneurs applying to our enterprise incubator this cohort, we’re more convinced than ever that new businesses not only need support, but are actively seeking it out. As the application numbers increase we’ve introduced assessment days to the program, alongside the already established mentor matching and weekly workshops which we’re very happy to be holding back at the Impact Hub in Brixton!
