My name is Wade. Two years ago I took sabbatical to travel the world, and the adventure was fantastic. I ended up in in Portland Oregon where I worked on an organic farm. Here, I had a really great experience as well as getting to know where my food was coming from, including the benefits of organic natural foods.
I returned to the UK to with a goal to set up a shop that sourced good, healthy organic foods whilst reducing unnecessary packaging and making it more affordable for people to buy Organic. I also wanted to reintegrate into the community & be a part of positive change in my area.
I saw an opportunity to set up a stall at our local food market in Crystal Palace, which focused on refill organic wholefoods. We had a really positive reaction and 5 months later were trading from a small shop within the market.
What is the best thing about starting your own business?
Being able to give something that you believe in a go, learning along the way and becoming a better person for trying.
What are some of the struggles you’ve faced?
Being a one-man band. When you are part of a larger organization or team where there are multiple people & roles you are able to focus and get your job done with maybe more ease than trying to take care of everything.
If you could have any enterprise related super power what would it be?
To be able to get more people to eat organic food and reduce waste with my telepathic powers!
