London, Tuesday 16th February 2021 – We are proud to be supporting the launch of the Amazon Bootcamp for Black-owned businesses, offering free advice and guidance for black entrepreneurs to help get their businesses online.
The event held on Tuesday 16 – Wednesday 17 February will give SMEs and entrepreneurs access to practical sessions on how to grow a business online, sell on Amazon, master social media and achieve scale.
According to research from the British Business Bank, Alone Together: Entrepreneurship and Diversity in the UK, Black-owned firms often have a lower average turnover than other groups and struggle to find access to relevant education and funding*. A report from Extend Ventures Diversity Beyond Gender: The State of the nation for Diverse Entrepreneurs, found that Black-owned business teams raised just 0.2 per cent of all venture funding between 2009 and 2019.**
Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: “We hope this bootcamp will help Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds get access to the practical support they need as well as inspiration from successful individuals who can share their own experiences. Offering targeted support is an important route to ensuring we can build diverse business communities, levelling up the opportunities for all entrepreneurs.”

The Bootcamp will also offer attendees the opportunity to network online and provide access to Amazon-specific training and advice from dedicated experts and advisers. Tens of thousands of UK-based small and medium-sized businesses sell their products in Amazon’s stores across the world and Amazon provides practical support and services to help them grow.
